    Gender and Politeness Negotiation on the Net : a Case Study of the Facebook

    Résumé (en Français) : Cette étude vise à analyser la relation sous-jacente entre le genre et la littérature verbale sur les sites de médias sociaux, en particulier les clubs Internet, en particulier lorsque l'utilisateur ne révèle pas son identité sexuelle. Cette tentative d'investigation a utilisé le cadre analytique des approches discursives pour la recherche littéraire et l'approche interactive avant (1999-2006) Arundale. Cette étude de recherche montre que l'utilisation de la littérature verbale sur Internet a une relation étroite avec le contexte de la situation dans laquelle ils se trouvent car cela peut dominer l'utilisation de la littérature même si l'utilisateur est anonyme, contrairement à ce que prétend Herring 2004). Au contraire, dans d'autres forums, comme l'actualité, y compris les mauvaises manières, l'art est dominant, car l'ignorance de l'identité contribue à réduire la responsabilité sociale soit pour les femmes ou le hommes. Les mots clés :politesse- genre- bénéfice de l’internet- communication en ligne Abstract (en Anglais) : The general aim of this thesis is to investigate how (im) politeness is negotiated in relation to gender in online forum communications bearing in mind the fact of anonymity. We utilized the analytical framework of discursive approaches to politeness research and interactional approach by Arundale (1999, 2006).This research study shows that (im) politeness use online has a tight relationship with the context of situation of the online setting the participants find themselves in. So, politeness use can dominate even when the participants are anonymous, unlike previous literature claims such as Herring (2004). By contrast, in other forums such as those of delivering news, impoliteness dominates the comments of the participants of both male and female nicknamed participants.     Globalisation and the Future of Language Planning in Algeria : Regulations and Perspectives

    الملخص(بالعربية) يهدف هذا البحث إلى دراسة تأثير العولمة على مستقبل التّخطيط اللّغوي في الجزائر، بناءً على تحليل القوانين و تقييم آراء الجمهور. ويركِّز على وصف أبرز تعديلات التَّخطِيط اللّغوِيّ التي أُجريت في الجزائر منذ الاستقلال، ولاسيما الأخيرة منها، مع الإشارة إلى تأثيرات العولمة على الوضع اللّغوي الرَّاهن. و يدور محور البحث حول معرفة السِّياسة اللّغوية المناسبة التي يجب أن تتَّخذها الجزائر لتستجيب للمتطلّبات الحاليّة للبلاد في ظلّ العولمة.و ارتكز البحث على بعض الدراسات حول تأثير العولمة على السِّياسة اللّغوية والـتَّخطيط اللّغوي عالميًّا و وطنيًّا، كما تمَّ تسليط الضّوء على أهمّ التَّغيُّرات في الجزائر.واعتَمدت هذه الدِّراسة على المنهج التّكاملي، مرتكزةً على البحث النوعي والكمِّي.فنوعيًّا تمَّ جمع البَيانَات بتحليل بعض النصوص المنتقاة من الدُّستور وأرشيف الجريدة الرَّسمـيَّة، وبالملاحظة غير المباشرة، و كذا بمقابلة ستّة خبراء. و أما كمِّيّا، تَمَّ بإجراء استطلاعين على الإنترنت مع 905 مشاركين.وكشَفَ تحليل البيانات أن موقف الجمهور ليس إلا وجها يعكس الواقع، و يبيّن تأثير العولمة و الأيديولوجيات على السياسات اللغوية.وأظهرت النَّتائج أن التَّغيُّرات الحاليَّة ستكون أقوى دافع لتنفيذ سياسة لغويّة حكيمة مدروسة جيّدًا من أجل تنمية البلد بالأساس، مع فرض قوانين صارمة للحفاظ على الهُويّة والثَّــقافة واللُّــغات الوَطنيَّة Résumé (en Français) : L’objectif de cette recherche est d’étudier l'impact de la mondialisation sur l'avenir de la planification linguistique en Algérie, à partir d'une analyse des lois et d'une évaluation des opinions publiques. L’étude décrit les changements les plus importants dans la planification linguistique qui ont eu lieu en Algérie depuis l'indépendance, en référence aux effets de la mondialisation sur la situation actuelle. Elle vise principalement à définir la politique linguistique que l'Algérie doit adopter pour répondre aux besoins actuels du pays au sein de la mondialisation. Elle passe en revue de certaines études de l'impact de la mondialisation sur la politique et la planification linguistique aux niveaux mondial et national, on explorant les changements les plus importants en Algérie. Une méthodologie mixte a été utilisée pour recueillir des données qualitativement on analysant certains textes sélectionnés de la constitution et des archives du journal officiel, une observation indirecte, ainsi qu'un entretien avec six experts. La partie quantitative a été basée sur deux enquêtes via Internet avec905 participants. L’analyse des données a révélé que l’opinion public n’est qu’un miroir de la réalité et montre l’impact de la mondialisation et des idéologies sur les politiques linguistiques. Les résultats montrent que les changements actuels seront le motif le plus fort de la mise en œuvre d'une politique linguistique sage et bien étudiée visant principalement à développer le pays, tout en imposant des lois strictes pour préserver l'identité, la culture et les langues nationales. Les mots clés : La langue, la planification linguistique, la politique linguistique, l’algérie, la globalisation, le future linguistique Abstract (en Anglais) : The objective of this research is to consider the future of language planning in Algeria within a globalised world, with reference to both official regulations and public perspectives. It described the major shifts in past and current Algeria, pointing out the most visible impacts of globalisation on its language planning. The focal issue was to know what shape Algerian language policy should have to fit current local and global requirements. The work was conducted by exploring a critical review of some selected literature about the impact of globalisation on both global and local language policy and planning, highlighting the major shifts in Algeria. The mixed methods approach was followed to collect required data. Qualitative data were collected through indirect observation, semi-structured interviews with six senior officials, along with the analysis of some official archival and published documents selected mainly from the Constitution and the Official Journal. Quantitative data were obtained from two Internet surveys with 905 participants. Data analysis revealed that people’s perceptions could be no more than a face of authenticity, reflecting the influence of globalisation and of ideologies on language policies. Findings led to conclude that current changes would be a source of strength to the execution of a well-studied reliable language policy that should be primarily directed at the country’s development, yet with the prescription of strict regulations to preserve national languages, culture and identity.
