ETUDE DES CELLULES SOLAIRES MULTICOUCHES POLY CRISTALLINES
(2021-03-10) HAMRI Yazid Zakaria; Encadreur: BOUREZIG Yamina
Abstract : Thin film solar cells based on Cu (In, Ga) Se2 absorbers (CIGS) represent a future technology with high conversion efficiency. In conventional solar cells, the CdS buffer, traditionally used, is optimal when combined with a CIGS with a 1.15eV gap but less optimal when the latter's gap is higher. To overcome this limitation, CdZnS is proposed in this study, as an alternative buffer layer to replace CdS in CIGS cells exhibiting a copper-depleted surface (OVC). The impact of varying concentrations of gallium and zinc in the absorber and buffer layers respectively on the performance of solar cells, was then investigated using AMPS-1D software. The results show a potential improvement in conversion efficiency showing 23.71% for a gallium and zinc contents of the order of 0.7 and 0.6 respectively. These results have been attributed on the one hand, to better exploitation of the solar spectrum and on the other hand, to the beneficial effect of the OVC layer on the open circuit voltage.
