    Inventaire de l’herpetofaune des monts de Tessala -Algérie occidentale

    Résumé : ( Français ) Les monts du Tessala sont une importante chaîne de montagnes de l'Atlas tellien située dans le Nord-Ouest de l'Algérie et possèdent des caractéristiques particulières en matière d'isolement géographique, de conditions climatiques et de fragilité des écosystèmes. Ils sont connus pour la richesse floristique, celle-ci est particulièrement développée dans les forêts du djebel Tessala. Les reptiles jouent un rôle crucial dans l’équilibre des écosystèmes. En effet, ils ont plusieurs positions trophiques dans les maillons des réseaux alimentaires, ils sont les prédateurs d’un grand nombre d’espèces d’insectes, de rongeurs et les proies d’autres reptiles, de rapaces ou de petits rongeurs. L’étude de la diversité herpétologique sur les monts de tessala de la wilaya de Sidi Bel Abbes révèle la présence d’une variété d’espèces reptiles et amphibiens qui ont été inventoriées durant six sorties Les reptiles: Agama impalearis, Chamaeleo chamaeleon, Hemorrhois hippocrepis, Psammodromus algirus, Timon pater, Tarentola mauritanica, Chalcides ocellatus, Trogonophis wiegmanni et les Amphibiens Bufotes boulengeri et Pelophylax saharicus. Abstract : ( Anglais ) The Tessala Mountains are an important mountain range of the Tell Atlas located in the North-West of Algeria and have particular characteristics in terms of geographic isolation, climatic conditions and fragility of ecosystems. They are known for their rich flora, which is particularly developed in the forests of Jebel Tessala. Reptiles play a crucial role in the balance of ecosystems. Indeed, they have several trophic positions in the links of food webs, they are the predators of a large number of species of insects, rodents and the prey of other reptiles, raptors or small rodents.
