الملخص (بالعربية)
إن هذه الدراسات الاستشراقية الانجليزية للحضارة الإسلامية وتاريخها العريق أولد تياراً فكرياً متباعدا كلياً عن الإمكانيات الإيديولوجية للغرب والشرق مما خلق شرارة تنافر بين التيارين، لطالما كان الشرق إلهاماً وشغفاً للغرب (للدراية به) في كل نواحيه، واستطاعت الحضارة الإسلامية أن تستقطب علماء الغرب لها، ومن بينهم لويس برنارد الذي كرّس كل حياته في دراسة التاريخ الإسلامي مسلطا الضوء في ذلك على ظاهرة الإستغراب، التي إستحوذت على الفكر الشرقي مشيرا إلى الأفاق المستقبلية بين الغرب والشرق في ظل تناقض إيديولوجي.

Résumé (en Français) :
Les études orientalistes anglaises de la civilisation islamique et de son histoire ancienne ont donné naissance à une tendance intellectuelle complètement divergente sur les possibilités idéologiques de l'Occident et de l'Orient, ce qui a créé une lutte houleuse de répulsion entre eux. Pour autant, l’Orient était toujours une inspiration et une passion pour l’Occident qui voulait en être bien conscient en outre, la civilisation islamique avait pu attirer y les savants occidentaux ; parmi eux, Louis Bernard, qui a consacré toute sa vie à l'étude de l'histoire islamique, mettant en évidence le phénomène de l’occidentalisme, qui a capturé la pensée orientale. Bernard indiquait les perspectives d'avenir entre l'Occident et l'Orient compte tenu de leur contradiction idéologique.

Abstract (en Anglais) :
English Orientalist studies of the Islamic civilization and its ancient history gave birth to an entirely divergent intellectual tendency on the ideological possibilities of the West and the Orient, which, in turn, created a spark of incoherence between them. Nevertheless, the Orient was considered as a passion and an inspiring source for the West, which strived to study everything related to it. Additionally, the Islamic civilization succeeded to be a centre of attention amongst occidental scholars; taking the instance of Louis Bernard, who had devoted his entire life to the study of Islamic history by putting much emphasis on the phenomenon of Occidentalism, which has captured the oriental thoughts. He also indicated future prospects between the West and the Orient in light of their ideological contradiction.
