The main objective of the work is to characterize experimentally and numerically this particular case of the
corona discharge generated by a triode-type electrode arrangement, designed and carried out in collaboration between our laboratory APELEC and PPRIME institute University of Poitiers. The present work analyzes numerically the electric field with and without space charge produced by this type of configuration and different geometry of the electrode system in order to make some recommendations on the design and use. The distance between the electrodes has a very significant influence on the electric field intensity as well as the extension of the corona discharge. Experiments were discussed for different configurations of triode electrodes type. Despite the development of diagnostic tools for process of charging and discharging of the dielectric, the studies did not address the transient regime in these media. It is in this context that we decided to focus our efforts on the study of transient regime in the presence of non-woven fibrous dielectric media. The objective is to evaluate the response of such material to a deposition of electric charges generated by corona discharge and to understand the physical mechanisms involved. In this work, we looked at other factors that could influence the distribution of electric charge on the surface of the media and the DPS, in the case of using a type of triode electrode system : (1) the charge mode" static "or" scan ";
(2) the geometry of the electrode system load (the distance between the grid and the wire from the corona electrode);(3) grid voltage, which depends on the resistance and the grid current. Measurements are made through a resistor Rm = 10 MΩ by an electrometer. This solution allowed the interfacing with the computer to complete the acquisition of data using a virtual instrument developed under the LabView environment.
