Abstract
Abstract (en Anglais) : This thesis is concerned with the theoretical study of multifunctional metals based on rare earth elements. The structures thus obtained have been studied by the full potential linearized augmented plane wave method (FP-LAPW) in order to evaluate the nature of this alloy. Through ab initio calculations, we have been able to observe a metal-semiconductor transition gradually as the concentration of Mg increases at 0.5 confirmed theoretically that experimentally, a gap of 0.403 eV corrected to 1.183 eV with GGA-mBJ. The Ti0.5Mg0.5N alloy of semiconductor character is doped at this stage by magnetic atom the Gadolinium Gd, the evaluation of the most stable magnetic configurations by the GGA+U approach ,applied to describe the strong correlation between the 4f electrons in Gd ion where U ranging from 0 to 10 eV. The analysis of the electronic band structure and the state density of these alloys with the two different approaches in their determined magnetic configurations convinced us of a half-metal behavior, confirmed also by an integer value of total magnetization.
